Survey by Avon Wildlife Trust
Back in July the Roundhill was surveyed by the Avon Wildlife Trust to identify the species of wildflower and grasses occurring on the hill, such as the Bird's-foot-trefoil pictured here (taken on the hill last year).
The full report is attached below. In addition, the surveyor's commented that "the results indicate that the central, sloping parts of the hill are very high quality Lowland Calcareous Grassland - a UK Biodiversity Action Plan Priority Habitat."
The primary motivation of the Friends for arranging this survey was to get advice with regards to the management plan for the Roundhill. The management plan sets out the mowing regime and other aspects regarding the care of the open space. The surveyors said that "the proposed plan should be entirely adequate to maintain the biodiversity on the hill." We are currently trying to confirm with the Council to what extent the existing plan is being followed.

Glad that you're following this up, Simon. The bio-diversity of the hill is the thing I most treasure, and the issue I most care about.
